Fred and Dean's Wedding at the Institute of Contemporary Art

When Fred and Dean came to us, they couldn't have been more clear in their vision for a sleek, modern, but warm wedding.  And really, there was only one building in Boston to fit the bill. Their wedding took place Labor Day weekend at Boston's most spectacular venue, the Institute of Contemporary Art, right on Boston Harbor.

The ICA is amazing but it's a hard space to work in!  It includes virtually nothing with the rental fee.  We used most of the spaces in the museum.  The ceremony and cocktail hour were on the Plaza overlooking Boston Harbor.  The cafe was available during cocktail hour and dancing.  And dinner was upstairs in the gorgeous theatre.  Dancing was back on the Plaza under the stars.  We worked hard to fill all of the spaces with beautiful furniture, linens, lighting and flowers to really speak to Fred and Dean's clean, masculine aesthetic.

When guests were first escorted up to the theatre (in that super cool elevator!) we had all the shades drawn with the seating chart projected.  When guests took their seats, the shades lifted, revealing the harbor view - it couldn't have been more dramatic!  Is that not the coolest seating chart you've ever seen?!
